Madelaine Naadi Edmonds, known by her stage name NAADI, is a Canadian singer/songwriter. NAADI’s music consists of a blend of sub-genres including dream pop, alternative/ambient pop, and dark pop. Of British, Scottish, and Korean descent, NAADI grew up listening to music from a variety of cultures which fueled her desire to study singing. After taking vocal and instrumental lessons as a child, she rekindled her passion for music after graduating with her Master's degree in Fine Art Photography and since then, she has been writing songs vocally and on the piano and guitar. Inspired by her background in abstract art, the vocal-scape of her songs are pure, sweet, and alluring as she weaves haunting melodies that float with clarity above a weighted sonic foundation of acoustic and electric instruments. NAADI sites Sia’s songwriting and powerful vocals and the expressive lyrics of Imogen Heap as her prominent influences. She moved to Los Angeles in 2014 and is currently on the Dean’s List pursuing a degree in Music Composition with an emphasis on Songwriting at the Los Angeles College of Music (LACM). Recipient of the Outstanding Vocal Performance Scholarship at LACM, NAADI has performed her original music at a variety of venues in the Los Angeles area, including Republic of Pie in North Hollywood, Amara Chocolate & Coffee, The Garage, Kulak’s Woodshed, and the House of Blues (Sunset Strip). She was also one of the featured vocalists on singer/songwriter Adjenai’s “The Wandering Heart” EP released in January 2016.
